L’Institut de recherche en santé environnement et travail (UMR 1085 IRSET) est une unité mixte de recherche associant l’INSERM, l’Université Rennes 1, l’Université des Antilles et de la Guyane, le Centre hospitalier universitaire de Rennes et l’EHESP. Situé à Rennes, il constitue l’un des plus grands pôles nationaux de recherche interdisciplinaire sur les risques liés à l’environnement et au travail. Son principal objectif est de comprendre les effets des facteurs environnementaux chimiques, biologiques et physiques sur la santé humaine.
L’IRSET comprend 3 groupes de recherche :
- Stress environnemental, infection, signalisation et cancer
- Endocrinologie, reproduction et développement
- Génomique, protéomique, microbiologie et chimie analytique
