Output feedback control of PMSM

The problem of controlling a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor is approached in this paper eliminating the necessity of including a speed sensor and without knowledge of the (constant) load torque. The proposed controller is obtained by equipping a well-known state-feedback scheme with an observer for estimating the speed and an adaptation law for the unknown perturbation. The closed-loop is shown to be practically asymptoticaly stabile. The usefulness of the contribution is evaluated through numerical simulations.
