Chaos crisis and multistability of self-pulsing dynamics in a laser diode with phase-conjugate feedback
Résumé
Semiconductor lasers with phase-conjugate feedback are known to exhibit rich nonlinear dynamics including chaos. We report here on two additional bifurcation scenarios for a moderately large feedback rate: suppression of chaos through a crisis bifurcation, and multistability between time-periodic self-pulsing with different and high (> GHz) frequencies.
