Observation of Branly's effect during shunting experiments on scaled wheel-rail contacts

Résumé

At the demand of SNCF, an experimental study of electrical circuit shunting phenomenon has been led together by LGEP-Supelec and IFSTTAR on a scaled rolling test bench. The electrical measurements have shown a non linear behavior identified as a Branly effect.
