Phase Only Synthesis For Time Modulated Array
Abstract
Phase Only Synthesis Time Modulated Array (POSTMA) is a new technique to reduce side lobe level (SLL) in radar application using phase only synthesis. It consists in applying successive sets of weights to the array elements during the integration time in order to generate an “average” SLL. Additional zeros can also be placed in the radiation pattern to suppress interference. It is also possible to steer to any desired direction.
