Enhanced Hybrid Spectrum Sensing Architecture for Cognitive Radio Equipment

Résumé

Spectrum sensing is an important process in cognitive communication and must be performed accurately. In this paper we propose a low complexity detector based on a combination of two well-known and complementary spectrum sensing methods: energy and cyclostationary detection. The cyclostationary detector is used to estimate the noise level , which is then used to fix the threshold of the energy detector. Simulation results show promising performances of the proposed detector in low Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR).
