Eddy-current inspection modelling of a thin crack emanating from a borehole in a conducting plate

Abstract

A fast model for the eddy-current signal calculation of thin cracks emanating from a borehole in a conducting plate is presented. The model is based on the surface integral equation formalism using a dedicated Green’s function, which takes into account the effect of the borehole. The approach followed for the construction of the Green’s kernel and the primary field is the Truncated Region Eigenfunction Exapnsion (TREE) method
