A unit commitment model with electric vehicles flexibility: case of 2030 Moroccan power system

Résumé

In this study, we propose a new Unit Commitment (UC) model integrating electric vehicle storage flexibility to assess the power grid under different operating conditions with an important share of renewable energy sources and variable load. The model is implemented for the case of the projected Moroccan electrical system in 2030 and the method shows savings in thermal production costs. These benefits are higher under extreme conditions of renewable production or in the presence of demand with fast ramps.
