Numerical Study of Electromagnetic Behavior of an Elliptical Superconducting Filament
Résumé
This article deals with the study of electromagnetic behavior of an elliptical superconducting filament by using the numerical method. The simulation results are obtained from the finite element method and the Bean's model. This model is well adapted for Low Temperature Superconductor (LTS) studies. We observed the effect of the angle of the applied magnetic induction to the distributions of current density and magnetic induction in the superconducting filament. The results obtained by the numerical method confirmed the validity of our previous analytical development. These results could be applied to the real superconducting strands used for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) magnets at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).
